    What makes this product unique?

    Alpha lipoic acid, also known as 6,8-thioctic acid, was first discovered in 1951. In the past 60 years, alpha lipoic acid’s role as an antioxidant has been shown to be effective in scavenging the hydroxyl radical, singlet oxygen, and nitric oxide, offering protection to skin cells.

    Interestingly, alpha lipoic acid is so powerful that it can revive and regenerate other antioxidants, such as vitamin C and vitamin E. Being both lipid-soluble and water-soluble, alpha lipoic acid can reach all portions of the skin cells to offer maximum antioxidant protection against free radicals from UV radiation.

    Apply 2-3 drops over the entire face alone or after water-based serums, before oil-based products. Can be mixed with other serums and oils to buffer the strength.  Do not use with highly acidic formulations. Avoid putting on irritated skin. Use 3 times per week.

    Alpha Lipoic Acid is my favourite night time skin treat for glory skin. Love this stuff, love the burnt sugar smell, love the warm feeling it gives. Forever on my repurchase list.

    Works surprisingly good!

    So much more effective than vitamin C and the bottle will last you forever because you won't need more than a few drops. I use this for the entire face 2x a week and as a spot treatment on my icepick scars on the other days. After a consistent month of usage, one scar is completely gone and the other scar has faded significantly!

    This alpha lipoic acid from The Ordinary is magic! It gives your skin a soft, radiant glow. They advise to only use it 2-3 times per week (it’s a strong concentration) or I would use it every day for that immediate glow if I could. It’s an antioxidant that works to brighten, protect and increase the activity of other antioxidants. It also treats inflammation. I love what it has done for my skin and consider it quite a bargain. It’s one of my must-haves.
